Stephen Colbert: The Funniest!

Stephen Colbert spoke last night at the dinner and lampooned pretty much everything he could think of and Helen Thomas. I used the second half of his performance because it included the Generals, Scalia, the Faux press briefing and as E&P reported:
"As he walked from the podium the president and First Lady gave Colbert quick nods, unsmiling, and left. E&P's Joe Strupp, in the crowd, observed that quite a few felt the material was, perhaps, uncomfortably biting."

Video-WMP (low res) Video QT (it's a big file)

"Colbert complained that he was "surrounded by the liberal media who are destroying this country, except for Fox News. Fox believes in presenting both sides-the president's side and the vice president's side."
He noted former Ambassador Joseph Wilson in the crowd, as well as " Valerie Plame." Then, pretending to be worried that he had named her, he corrected himself, as Bush aides might do, "Uh, I mean... Joseph Wilson's wife." He asserted that it might be okay, as prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald was probably not there.
Colbert's show on Comedy Central, is "Must See TV" at this point already and these types of performances are the toughest in the business to pull off when he's tackling issues that obviously made most of the crowd nervous.
C-Span is running it again in it's entirety.

Kaavya Viswanathan - Plagiarist!

Kaavya Viswanathan became a teenage sensation as she continues to repeat her apology in interviews as she continues to repeat her apology in interviews and getting a six-figure deal for her first novel by the time she entered Harvard and selling the movie rights to Hollywood.
“I really thought the words were my own. I guess it’s just been in my head. I feel as confused as anyone about it, because it happened so many times,” said Kaavya, speaking to media.
Kaavya Viswanathan found literary stardom last year at the age of 17 when publisher Little Brown paid her US$500,000 in a two-book deal. Those in New York’s highly competitive literary world feel that even if she survives this, it will leave a permanent scar on her future.

Her novel How Opal Mehta Got Kissed, Got Wild, and Got a Life has been accused of lifting passages and scenes from Megan McCafferty’s first two books, Sloppy Firsts and Second Helpings.

Everything now hinges on whether her agents and publishers stand by her side. For now, Little Brown and Company who published her book has said that it will not pull the current edition from the stores, and neither will it sue Kaavya for a breach of contract.

Butt Ugly Genes

Gals, you may be pretty after plastic surgery, but watch out when you have a kid! As D'arcy found out, her baby inherited her flat pudgy nose, much to her Anglo guy's horror--- he was outta here! "Give me a slut like Tammy NYP any day but please don't give me a surgery girl like that Dawn Yang," said Tommy Chan. Like others, Chan has come to realise a girl who lies about her face will lie about many other things!
Here is your Linky-Dink for Easter:

60 Lashes for Tammy NYP

Some bloggers have had it with Tammy NYP! No Mercy! They want to see Tammy prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!

60 Lashes and prison time are in order. And broadcast the caning on TV. Let THAT be the lesson young people learn. Not the one I've seen on other blogs ENCOURAGING other young men and women to "make their own videos" and share them on the Internet. I'm willing to bet the people encouraging this have their own agendas.

Here's the linky-dink!

Ready To Die?

It sounds like a perfect parlor game for baby boomers suddenly confronting their own mortality: What are your chances of dying within four years?

Researchers have come up with 12 risk factors to try to answer that for people over age 50.

This is one game where you want a low score...

The Rapture Index

Here's a scary little page called the Rapture Index
which measures current events and tries to calculate the probability that we are in the end times. The current rapture index rating is 156 - which they calculate as rating in the highest category. Here's a blurb from their site that explains more -
The Purpose For This Index
The Rapture Index has two functions: one is to factor together a number of related end
time components into a cohesive indicator, and the other is to standardize those components
to eliminate the wide variance that currently exists with prophecy reporting.
The Rapture Index is by no means meant to predict the rapture, however, the index is
designed to measure the type of activity that could act as a precursor to the rapture.
You could say the Rapture index is a Dow Jones Industrial Average of end time activity,
but I think it would be better if you viewed it as prophetic speedometer. The higher the
number, the faster we're moving towards the occurrence of pre-tribulation rapture. Rapture Index of 85 and Below: Slow prophetic activity
Rapture Index of 85 to 110: Moderate prophetic activity
Rapture Index of 110 to 145: Heavy prophetic activity
Rapture Index above 145: Fasten your seat belts

Recent Events in the Holy Land fulfill Bible prophecy.
It can now be shown conclusively that Daniel, a prophet in the Hebrew Scriptures, prophesied the coming of Islam 1200 years before Muhammad was born. Those same scriptures prophesied the crucifixion of Messiah over 500 years before Jesus was born. John, another Bible prophet, foresaw the new nation of Israel 1800 years before it was established. John then prophesied that Jerusalem would be freed of Islamic control by 1967.
All these events were foreseen right to the year, putting to rest the Islamic claim that the Jewish and Christian Scriptures have been corrupted. Students of the Koran also believe 666 to be a holy number, related to the Koran itself. The dire significance of that number was prophesied in the Bible over 600 years before the Koran was written.
Written thousands of years ago, these Bible prophecies were fulfilled exactly as predicted. They impact our spiritual lives regardless of our religious preference. Clear and easy to read, The False Prophet, by our author Ellis Skolfield, is not a book against Jews or Moslems or anyone else. It is a book about prophetic truth. God is truth, and how well we serve Him is not determined by how cleverly we can defend our traditions, but on how willing we are to seek out and follow the truth.
